Here is a detailed explantion on updating in the Premium Screener. Some items actually are updated daily. Most items are not.

"How Often Is The Data In The Custom Screener Updated?

Price-related information, the Zacks Rank*, earnings estimates, average broker recommendations, and insider trading data is updated daily (after the market close). All other data is updated weekly (by Monday at 4:30 am)."

I have not tried listing industries. For screening and backtesting the RW has far more sophisicated methods than available in the Premium Scanner even though I find them tricky to use. See Tip 3. Also look at the scan, Value and Spark, under Value Scans which scans for the stocks from the top 7 sectors based on F(1) estimates.

I am not surprised that the zacks rank of industries can be unstable. Normally the scans use the XIndustries. Some of these have very few stocks so a change in 1 or 2 can have a main change on the industry rank.
