I am new to the RW Community. It seems to be relatively inactive. Moreover, it is difficult to use. For example, the latest post is not listed at the top of the page, but rather the bottom, forcing one to page down many pages to find it. Also, I have been unsuccessful in downloading .und files posted by other members. It seems that all that I get is a file of html source code for the web page in question rather than the .und file. A new issue of "Tips and Tricks" supposedly is posted every other week, but I have yet to see any new ones posted. Any one have any tips to make this site more user friendly?
Thanks, Jim, that is helpul.
ABBV is a spin off from ABBOT Labs (ABT). On January 1st, 2013, when you owned ABT, this spin off happened. People saw their share price dive from $64 to $32 (roughly) and were compensated for the difference by receiving a stock dividend of ABBV. ABBV was almost instantly a member of the S&P500.
Like most if not all stock dividends, this stock dividend of ABT is not accounted for in i5 of RW, which still shows a dive of 1/2 on January 1, 2013. Yahoo's adjusted share price doesn't account for stock dividends either, so that calculating back-test returns from ABT using Yahoo data is unreliable too, as it is with RW. The desktop application of my broker (AT) does show the proper returns for stocks receiving stock dividends.
